Elgon Coffee CEO, Bernard Wangamati, proudly represented Gabriel Werunga, Chairman of the AFC Leopards Toronto Branch, at the launch of the club’s Bungoma Branch — a key milestone in expanding Ingwe’s presence in Western Kenya.
During the event, Wangamati held fruitful discussions with AFC Leopards National Chairman Boniface Ambani, highlighting the diaspora’s growing commitment to supporting the club. He announced that Elgon Coffee will support AFC Leopards through the sale of official merchandise, including jerseys, via the Elgon Coffee website — providing fans with easy access to authentic gear while directly supporting the team.
In a show of goodwill, Wangamati donated Ksh 10,000 to the Bungoma Branch on behalf of Elgon Coffee, underlining the brand’s dedication to community development and sports. “This is just the beginning,” he said. “We’re committed to helping AFC Leopards grow — both on home soil and internationally.”
He also revealed plans to assist in creating an AFC Leopards Boston Branch, continuing the Toronto Branch’s efforts to strengthen the club’s presence abroad. In closing, Wangamati extended a warm invitation to Chairman Ambani to visit Toronto and Boston to meet AFC fans and witness the passion that thrives beyond Kenyan borders.
“We encourage all fans to drink and support local — Elgon Coffee will soon be available in Nairobi. Enjoy a cup, wear the jersey, and back the pride of Kenyan football,” he concluded.
